The Department of Health and Wellness is working with our health sector partners to replace the current Human Tissue Gift Act with a comprehensive new Human Organ and Tissue Donation Act.
This draft new Act will help more of the half-a-million registered donors in Nova Scotia have their wishes honored.
Updates to the Act will help raise public awareness, improve the donation process and ultimately change the lives of those waiting for a transplant.
Everyone with an interest in organ and tissue donation has the opportunity to be heard. We have included commentary paragraphs throughout this draft Act to help clarify the legislation and guide your input.
