Did You Know?
Nova Scotian's are proudly called 'Bluenoses' or 'Bluenosers' since the 1700's. Reason: Planting and exporting of Irish Bluenose Potatoes, blue marks on the noses of fishermen left by blue mitts, and the nickname given to the Nova Scotia British troops which occupied New York City and Boston during the American Revolution.

Nova Scotia Civic Address File Web Service

The Nova Scotia Civic Address File Web Service is temporarily offline as we make enhancements to the application. Please check back soon.

The Nova Scotia Civic Address Web Service is an XML Web Service that is publicly available at no cost for developers. The web service allows developers to integrate the Nova Scotia Civic Address File into their applications – the official civic address database for the Province of Nova Scotia. This database is updated daily and is the source for 911 based addressing for emergency response in Nova Scotia. By integrating this web service into your application, you will make certain that your application contains correct and valid addressing.

If you have any questions regarding the Nova Scotia Civic Address Web Service, please contact Colin MacDonald at 902-424-5281 or macdoncw@gov.ns.ca.
