GeoNOVA is pleased to announce the release of its new corporate application for downloading Nova Scotia geographic data.

GeoNOVA has been working in collaboration with several partners including the Nova Scotia Geomatics Centre, Department of Agriculture, and Safe Software to produce the application to allow several different digital geographic products available for direct download. The application is targeted to geomatics users who have desktop systems that can display and analyse geographic information. The goal of the application is to expand and include as much digital geographic information as possible from GeoNOVA partners including provincial departments and agencies and municipalities.

With the initial release, the new GeoNOVA: Download Geographic Data tool contains the following digital mapping products: Nova Scotia Topographic Database (1:10,000 Resource Mapping Series), Nova Scotia Civic Address File, Nova Scotia Road Network, Nova Scotia Geographic Names, and maps from the Department of Agriculture.

The tool allows users to download data according to the boundaries of their choosing such as municipality, community name, a Nova Scotia 1:10,000 map sheet, or by keying in specific map coordinates. Users may then select map data from any combination of the available products for their download. Additional options are available for map file format and preferred coordinate system.

Please visit this new application.
