Spring into Geomatics 2008!, May 27 at the Glengarry in Truro

Spring into Geomatics 2008 The GeoNOVA Secretariat and the Geomatics Association of Nova Scotia were pleased to jointly host Spring into Geomatics 2008 on May27th. It was a great opportunity for close to 140 geomatics practitioners and those interested in geography to come together and celebrate Nova Scotia Geography.

There were a wide variety of presentations from our geomatics community including speakers from the provincial, municipal, academic, and private sectors. The keynote speaker this year was Bruce Nunn; Mr. Nova Scotia Know-It-All.

The GeoNOVA program review provided an excellent opportunity for participants to voice their ideas and thoughts about the corporate direction of geomatics in Nova Scotia. All thoughts and ideas put forward were captured and will be consolidated into a report on GeoNOVA’s future direction.

The Geomatics Association of Nova Scotia also held their Annual General Meeting. Congratulations to Mr. James Boxall, the new president of GANS.

Thanks to all who attended and contributed to a very successful conference!! We look forward to hearing from you with suggestions for future events.
