Nova Scotia Topographic Database Strategic Directions Workshops

To ensure that the Government of Nova Scotia provides high quality topographic information, Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations are revisiting the Nova Scotia Topographic Database's (NSTDB) strategic direction. This is to ensure that the department stays abreast of the needs of stakeholders, remains current with technology advancements, and continues to manage the NSTDB in a cost effective and efficient manner. In the development of a strategic plan, significant emphasis will be placed upon engaging NSTDB clients and stakeholders to understand their topographic mapping requirements and to gather their perspective on past, present, and future strategic directions. Stakeholder workshops will be used as a forum to gather information regarding users' current perceptions of the NSTDB and to gauge their anticipations of future needs. This information will provide valuable input into the direction of the NSTDB program.

You are hereby invited to participate in one of three stakeholder workshops scheduled for Tuesday July 14th, Wednesday July 15th and Thursday July 16th, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Future Inns Halifax Hotel & Conference Centre, 30 Fairfax Drive, Halifax. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

This is a broad stakeholder invitation and all input is welcome however the Thursday July 16th session is targeted for Government of Nova Scotia employees. The sessions on Tuesday July 14th and Wednesday July 15th are for all other users and contributors to the NSTDB. If you are a Government of Nova Scotia employee and you cannot attend the session on July 16th you are welcome to take part in one of the other sessions.

Please contact Devon Gillis at dgillis@barringtongrp.ca to indicate which session you plan on attending or with any questions you may have.

We look forward to hearing about your experience, insights and ideas regarding the NSTDB.
