Users of Nova Scotia geographic data will have an easier time finding the information they need.
The GeoNOVA Program is pleased to announce a new application launched in the GeoNOVA Portal. The Nova Scotia Geographic Catalogue allows users of geographic information to search, discover, and visualise mapping information available in Nova Scotia. The Geographic Catalogue will greatly improve access to the Province’s rich holdings in mapping-related information.
GeoNOVA has been working with Interpretation Resources Consulting Incorporated of Amherst, Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Geomatics Centre to develop the province’s new Geographic Catalogue for mapping information. Additionally, GeoNOVA has been collaborating with local geographic data partners in provincial, municipal, and federal governments to catalogue their mapping assets and add them to the new application.
"The Geographic Catalogue will enable discovery of Nova Scotia's vast geographic information and is an important component of our GeoNOVA Program's goal to improve access to that geographic information," said Danny Gray, Director of Geographic Information Services at Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations.
There are now thousands of mapping products that can now be discovered in Nova Scotia through the Geographic Catalogue.
The GeoNOVA Program has a responsibility for providing access to geographic data in the Province of Nova Scotia.
