Fisheries and Aquaculture provides technical and financial support to commercial
fishers, aquaculturists and processors in coastal communities
in Nova Scotia; supports development and demonstration projects
as a means of introducing new and improved technology to
the industry; provides engineering services to other divisions
of the department; and administers a federal-provincial
Cooperation Agreement relating to aquaculture, fishing vessels
and sport fishery development.

| The Innovations in Fisheries and Aquaculture division
of the Nova Scotia Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture
consists of trained and experienced staff who play an
integral role delivering program assistance to our Nova
Scotia clients in the fishing, aquaculture and processing
industries. The cost-sharing philosophy of these programs
nurtures the incentive for Nova Scotians involved in
the aquaculture and fishing industries to promote their
innovative ideas. |
