The Nova Scotia Pension Agency was created in February 2006 to provide pension investments and client services for six Nova Scotia public sector pension plans.
These include:
- the Teachers’ Pension Plan
- the Public Service Superannuation Plan
- the Members of the Legislative Assembly pension plan; and
- three Sydney Steel Corporation Superannuation Funds
These plans represent about 60,000 active & retired members, including public servants, teachers, Members of the Legislature, and former employees of the Sydney Steel Corporation.
As of Dec. 31, 2007, the pension Funds had assets of more $8.3 billion.
The agency reports to two trustees, the Minister of Finance and the Teachers’ Pension Plan Trustee Inc.
