Population
Based on the 2011 Census of Population, Advocate Harbour has a population of 826 which is 5.6% lower than in 2001. In 2011, 13.3% of the population was under the age of 20 and 31.5% was 65 years or older.
In comparison, Nova Scotia has a population of 921,725 which is 1.5% higher than in 2001. 21.2% of the population was under the age of 20 and 16.6% was 65 years or older.

Family StructureIn Nova Scotia, family structure has shifted from the traditional larger married families to smaller married families and an increase in both common-law and lone-parent families.
