Population
Based on the 2006 Census of Population, Brookfield has a population of 2,071 which is 6.6% higher than in 1996. In 2006, 23.0% of the population was under the age of 20 and 14.9% was 65 years or older.

Family StructureIn Nova Scotia, family structure has shifted from the traditional larger married families to smaller married families and an increase in both common-law and lone-parent families.
