Non-Adjudicative

"It has been a delight to work with members from different walks of life and a very talented and efficient staff for the past nine years. Together we have accomplished a great deal in terms of supporting the fishing industry in this province."

Roy J. Surette, Chair, Nova Scotia Fisheries and Aquaculture Loan Board

Non-adjudicative ABCs are those ABCs that do not have quasi-judicial functions. They make financial, regulatory, business, or policy decisions or recommendations to government. These decisions and recommendations have far reaching implications for all Nova Scotians.

Non-adjudicative ABCs are established by statute or regulation, and most board members are appointed by Ministerial Appointment or Order in Council. For more information on the non-adjudicative ABCs appointments process, see Process Overview.
