How to Apply (Non-Adjudicative)

All Nova Scotians are invited to apply. You should apply to those boards that you feel your qualifications and experience best compliment.

How to Prepare Your Application

  1. Review the position profiles to determine which boards you would like to apply for.
  2. Submit a cover letter and your resume to the Executive Council Office. In your letter, list which ABCs you are applying for and whether you are interested in a particular position on the board, such as Chair or Vice Chair. Explain how your qualifications and experience match those required for the board you are applying for.

We thank all applicants for your interest. Only successful applicants will be notified when they have been approved for an appointment.

All appointments to ABCs are public information.

Your application is kept on file for two years. After two years you must reapply to ensure your application will be considered as vacancies arise.

If you are appointed to a non-adjudicative ABC, you must reapply if you wish to serve another term on the board after your initial term expires.

The Government of Nova Scotia has an Employment Equity Policy and we welcome applications from Aboriginal people, African Nova Scotians and other racially visible people, persons with disabilities and women in occupations or positions where they are under-represented. If you are a member of one of the equity groups you are encouraged to self-identify, on either your application, covering letter or your resume.
