2009 Energy Strategy
In January 2009, the province of Nova Scotia released the 2009 Energy Strategy and its companion, the Climate Change Action Plan.
Both documents share the same goal: grow the economy while protecting the environment.

To prepare the policies contained in these documents, the province:
- held 13 public consultation workshops across the province, with participation by more than 250 people.
- met with 19 organizations
- considered 145 written submissions
- surveyed 2,900 Nova Scotians

Many of the policies contained in these documents have been directly influenced, informed, or created by the work of the participants in the energy consultation process through 2007 and 2008.
