Natural gas is a competitively-priced energy option for Nova Scotia residents and businesses. It is also a cost-effective way of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Natural gas from Nova Scotia's Sable Offshore Energy Project has been flowing since 1999. In 2003, Heritage Gas was awarded the franchise to distribute natural gas in Nova Scotia. Natural gas is currently available in Halifax, Dartmouth, at Stanfield International Airport and in Amherst. Heritage Gas is working to deliver natural gas to other parts of its franchise area and to serving more communities.
