Propane Rates and Taxes Across Canada
In Nova Scotia, propane is taxed according to how it is used.
- The 13% HST is applied to propane used as a heating fuel.
- The HST plus a provincial tax of 7 cents/litre is applied to propane used as a motive fuel (fuel used to power a vehicle, aircraft or vessel).
