Tourism Innovations Days 2012: Focus on Quality
The 10th Annual Tourism InnovatioNS Days will be held April 24 and 25!
To compete with tourism destinations around the world, it is essential to satisfy our visitors' expectations. We all need to work together to ensure we are delivering only the best products, experiences and customer service.
Are we meeting visitor expectations? The quality of the visitor experience is influenced by every interaction with a destination - from pre-trip information, the quality of privately and publicly offered products and services, to post-trip follow-up. Everyone has a role to play.
Come and discover the latest trends, and how Nova Scotia stacks up against other world-class destinations. Be inspired to make improvements and look at your business through the visitor's eyes. Learn practical tips and best practices to enhance quality in your operation.
Join guest speaker Anita Stewart, internationally acclaimed culinary activist and member of the Order of Canada, to hear about quality trends in restaurants and other food and beverage establishments. Discover how your business can benefit from improvements in food and service quality.

National Tourism Week
Mark your calendars! May 14-20 is Tourism Week in Canada - a national celebration that highlights the economic impact and social benefits of Canada's tourism sector among the media, general public and governments at all levels.
It provides a focal point for activities organized by the provincial and territorial tourism industry associations, provincial and territorial marketing organizations, destination marketing organizations, individual businesses and other partners. Tourism Week is organized collectively by a number of public and private tourism stakeholders. We encourage all of our members to open their doors to their communities.
Please send along your Tourism Awareness Week event details to Linda Jones, TIANS Central at linda@tourism.ca to post on the TIANS website.
Attention industry members seeking sponsorship
Whether you are new to the world of sponsorship, or just looking to update and polish your pitch, these workshops will provide you with the essential tools to be successful in achieving your sponsorship goals. The Atlantic Sponsorship Forum provides professional development and networking opportunities for companies and brands to create effective partnerships that will deliver value and fit.
This year's forum will feature two educational tracks, one for sponsors and one for properties with a focus on Activation and ROI.
The Atlantic Sponsorship Forum focuses on regional issues, such as: how do we creatively find ways to make Atlantic Canadian properties attractive to national and international companies?; how do we leverage constantly evolving social media tactics for the Maritime community?; what lessons can we learn from how the Toronto International Film Festival delivers value to its sponsors.
The workshops will be held November 6 and 7 at the Westin Nova Scotian in Halifax. For more information, please visit the Atlantic Sponsorship Forum website.
