The objective:
To stimulate private sector innovation among Nova Scotia companies engaged in R&D and provide on the job research and development opportunities for university students enrolled in Co-operative Education programs in the fields of science, business and engineering.
The opportunity:
Employers will receive a wage subsidy of 75% (up to a maximum of $15.00 per hour), which will be payable at the end of the work term. Eligible companies are required to pay an hourly wage of $20.00 plus 4% vacation pay and employer expenses.
The outcome:
Companies will benefit from the highly qualified students who have expertise in a variety of disciplines, as well as potentially see their innovations move from the lab to the global marketplace. Students will demonstrate their skills and gain valuable experience for future employment.
Innovation is important for economic growth. Ensuring that companies in Nova Scotia are globally competitive, creates a sustainable and prosperous business climate for Nova Scotia.
