Province initiates review of Regional Development Authorities

The province has asked a panel of business and community leaders to do an independent review of the Regional Development Authority model, and report back with recommendations on the best approach for helping to create good jobs, grow the economy and build stronger and sustainable communities.

To inform its recommendations, the expert panel is consulting with key groups, including municipalities, the federal government, community and business leaders, and Regional Development Authorities. The panel is gathering input from a variety of perspectives through consultation sessions with key groups and an online survey.

The panel members are:

  • Jo Ann Fewer (chair), CEO of Perennia and former executive director of Colchester Regional Development Association
  • Keith MacDonald, executive director, Cape Breton Partnership
  • Bob MacEachern, a business owner from the Port Hawkesbury area
  • Allister Surette, president of Université Ste. Anne
