Waterfront Development Corporation Limited

For thirty years the Waterfront Development Corporation (WDCL) has been bringing the community to the waterfront and the waterfront to the community.

Public and private investment in the past 30 years has been extensive and critical to the success of the waterfronts. These include Historic Properties, the Sheraton now Marriott Harbourfront Hotel, Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, Sackville Landing, Nova Scotian Crystal building, Waterfront Warehouse, Queens Landing, Tall Ships Quay, South Battery and Bishop's Landing in Halifax; Ferry Terminal Park, Admiralty Place and Chelton Ham in Dartmouth; DeWolfe Park, Convoy Quay and the South Jetty in Bedford.

The Corporation could not have achieved its success without its private sector and public sector partners and stakeholders

Current major projects include: The Tall Ships Nova Scotia Festival, and development projects including the Queen's Landing Project which combines the creation of a permanent home for the HMCS Sackville, Canada's Naval Memorial, and the expansion of the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic with a commercial development complex; and, Salter Project, a mixed used development on the Halifax waterfront are excellent examples.

Developing waterfronts that all Nova Scotians and their guests come to visit and enjoy has been our largest achievement.
