Victoria County Community Investments Inc.
The Victoria County Community Investments Inc. was started in the fall of 2003. The first offering occurred in February of 2004 with 77 investors advancing $600,000.00 to the CEDIF. This offering was fully subscribed.The second offering occurred in February of 2009 and the maximun ceiling of $800,000.00 was achieved with the participation of 64 investors of which 29 were new investors and the balance were repeat investors from the 2004 offering.
The CEDIF is a targeted investment at the local Co-op grocery store which is a community owned venture. The 2004 monies were used to pay off existing mortgages which enabled the target to become debt free. The planned usage of the 2009 CEDIF funds is an expansion of the grocery store in the fall of 2009.
The CEDIF program has been instrumental in allowing the Victoria Farmers Co-op to grow and prosper which has benefitted the community through employment and a quality grocery shopping option.
