CEDIF Funds

Valley Funeral Home Co-Operative Limited

Valley Funeral Home Co-operative Ltd received a letter of non-objection from the NS Securities Commission and issued shares as a CEDIF in 2003. At that time, it raised $157,000 to get the operation started, after many years of planning. At the time of the offering it had 150 members, which has now grown to 450.

The funeral home services all faiths and both members and non-members. Its area of business is the Annapolis Valley from Windsor to Bridgetown and New Ross to the Fundy coast.

Chairman Boyd Taylor says that funeral home co-ops have become a growing trend in the province, with an established operation in Musquodoboit as well as two recent start-ups in Cape Breton.
