My community’s hopes for high speed
Identify your community’s hopes for high-speedThis exercise is designed to get everyone talking about what their vision for the future is, and how they predict high-speed will make the community better. Keep a list of everyone’s ideas. These will help form your community’s vision for a high-speed future.
Already, rural communities are undertaking this workshop, and identifying their hopes for high speed. They include:
- attract more people to live in our community

- improve the local economy by:
- creating jobs
- attracting new businesses
- attracting small online businesses
- growing existing businesses
- allowing all businesses to take advantage of Internet applications for:
- advertising
- direct sales
- communicating with suppliers
- create networks where people can share expertise and support one another
- inspire new and better web site design
- let everyone use the latest web sites, particularly those with streaming audio and video
- make it easy for everyone to get the education they need using online tools
- make it easy for people to socialize online, particularly those who find it hard to get out and meet people
- increase access to online government services, and better online municipal services
