Soon, every community in Nova Scotia will have high-speed access to the Internet. This is also called broadband. High-speed works twenty five times faster than dial up Internet access.
When everyone has access to high-speed, communities can use Internet applications to work on many issues together. Communities can develop strategies to:
- create jobs and make sure those jobs stay in the community
- support businesses that use Internet applications to become more efficient and productive
- attract new people and businesses to the community
- create opportunities for those who have left to move home
- provide the same resources to everyone in Nova Scotia in such fields as education and business
- bring the world closer to home, such as
- family and friends who have moved away
- new business partners and clients from around the world
- make it easier to deal with government
High speed is already taking off in rural communities across Nova Scotia. Take a look at how these Nova Scotians use it for business, to improve their communities, and to look after our environment.
