Public Housing for Seniors

This program is designed to provide adequate, affordable rental housing to low income seniors (58 or over). Residents are charged rent based upon income.

The rent paid is for a fully serviced unit. The units are self contained, and include a stove, refrigerator, heat, and hot water. Some units are designed for the physically challenged. Units are located throughout Nova Scotia.

This program is managed by the Housing Authorities.

Eligibility

In order to qualify you must complete an application form and meet the criteria relating to income, residency, and core need.

To be eligible you or your spouse must be at least 58 years of age.

Special consideration will be given to individuals with special needs, such as a physical disability.
