This program is designed to provide adequate, affordable rental housing to families in need. Residents are charged rent based upon income. The rental units are self contained, and include a stove, refrigerator, heat, and hot water. Some units are designed for the physically challenged. Units are located throughout Nova Scotia.
This program is managed by the Housing Authorities.
In order to qualify you must complete an application form and meet the criteria relating to income, residency, and core need.
You are given priority if you are a victim of family violence, your home has been condemned or you need to be near a hospital.
Rent is based on your income.
