Orientation for Staff Working in Licensed Child Care Facilities

What is the orientation?

The Orientation for Staff Working in Licensed Child Care Facilities is a series of informational modules and activities for child care staff working directly with children who do not meet the regulated training requirements (Regulation 37(6)).

The Orientation for Staff Working in Licensed Child Care Facilities:

  • Available throughout the province
  • Consists of 16 sessions Overview and Objectives. (coming soon)
  • Each session requires approximately 3 hours to complete
  • 6 sessions are delivered in a classroom setting (3 days of classroom delivery including 2 sessions per day)
  • 10 sessions are completed in a home study format
  • Takes approximately 13 weeks to complete

Who is it for?

The Orientation for Staff Working in Licensed Child Care Facilities has been developed for staff who work directly with children and who do not have a classification in accordance with Regulation 37(1-5). The orientation is a requirement for all staff working directly with children who do not meet the regulated training requirements.

How do I register?

The delivery of the orientation will be administered by Child Care Connection, NS.

Completion of this orientation training entitles participants to receive Entry Level Classification for Child Care Staff
