Supported Child Care Grant (SCCG)
The Supported Child Care Grant (SCCG) program is a grant-based program that provides funding to licensed, full and part-day child care centres to create or sustain inclusive child care programs for children with special needs.
Additional sources of funding such as other operational grants received from the department; parent fees and fundraising activities may also collectively enable the delivery of an inclusive program in a child care centre.
Funding provided through the Supported Child Care Grant can be allocated towards the following:
- salary for new or existing staff
- approved professional development and training
- approved educational or reference materials
Supported Child Care Grant funding is not to be used for capital expenditures such as renovations.

Eligibility
All full-day and part-day licensed child care centres are eligible to apply to SCCG funding.
Next Steps
It is recommended that a child care centre consult with their ECDO at their Regional office when preparing an application package.
Each application package must contain:
- a completed and signed application form (available from the ECDO)
- a completed Work Plan.
