Family Home Day Care
The Family Home Day Care Program gives parents access to monitored day care services in a home setting. It is a voluntary program offered to in-home care providers to reduce their isolation, provide them with professional support and help them enhance their services. The program is designed to provide healthy, safe and appropriate environments for young children who are being cared for in private homes across Nova Scotia.
Approved family home day care is day care provided in a care provider's home, under the supervision of an agency. Family home day care agencies are licensed by the Department of Community Services to approve, manage and monitor the care providers in their homes.
