Respite Foster Families

The term "respite" means to provide rest or relief. Respite care offers full-time foster families and other types of families time to

• cope with family emergencies
• spend some quality time rejuvenating relations with the remainder of their family
• rest and rejuvenate themselves
• care for child or youth who requires one-on-one attention due to behavioral or  medical issues

Approved foster homes, both respite home and full-time, are offered ongoing support, education programs and retreats to assist with their role of foster parent.
