Portable Subsidized Spaces

A subsidized portable space is a space in a child care centre that belongs to the child and is not fixed to the centre. If you are eligible for a portable child care space, you can take your child care subsidy with you - even if you move to another day care within the province. (See also information on regular susidized spaces.)

Eligibility

This program is for low income Nova Scotian families. All subsidized spaces are designated for children who are 12 years old or younger, at centres that provide full-day child care.

The Department of Community Services provides 759 portable spaces across the province. Please note that spaces are limited.

Next steps
