Checklist For Government Employees
Here is a checklist of some of the most important tasks you need to get done when producing a website or web application. More information is provided in the section for government employees.
- Discuss project with Communications Director/Officer/Advisor.
- Appoint a project contact person.
- Get departmental approval for spending any funds.
- Contact CNS by filling out our New Request form.
- Determine domain name.
- Discuss project with French-language Services coordinator.
- Discuss project with Information Access and Privacy coordinator.
- If needed, arrange for webserver hosting with CITO.
- If needed, get external developer access to government webservers.
- Get WAN Security Authority approval for all new websites and applications.
- Make sure all developers (internal and external, if any) have read sections on technical, privacy, best practices, accessibility, and usability.
