Making safety accessible 24/7

PhotoThrough the Workers’ Compensation Board’s (WCB) MyAccount, employers can now take care of most of their safety needs, securely over the Internet any time and any day. They can:

  • Manage and view their WCB accounts
  • Access claims information and injury trends, even comparing their experience to others in their industry
  • Submit forms
  • Use prevention tools such as the Incident Cost safety calculator, which shows how improving safety performance can save people and money

That should free more of the employers’ time to spend on safety. Already, over 20% of the province’s employers have registered for the program, including more than 85% of the Nova Scotia’s 150 largest employers. Reaction has been very positive and within four months of adding online reporting, almost 300 injury reports have been submitted electronically.

The change also allows WCB staff to spend less time processing claims and more time serving employers and injured workers.
