Better regulation has a strong focus on modernizing our approach to regulation, which complements immediate measures we are taking to streamline the regulatory burden. One of the ways we do this is with continuous learning, designed to change the culture and how we consider, develop and implement regulation.
Since fall 2006, regular events focused on improving regulatory practices, bringing together public servants, distinguished guests and members of the business community. Each spring, the Better Regulation Initiative hosts a Spring Staff Update to invite the business community to join us and help us see the impacts of regulations through a business lens. To date, each fall we have also hosted the Regulatory Craft Conference to allow provincial public servants to share best regulatory practices across departments and learn from other jurisdictions.
