AIDS Awareness Week
Events planned by the 2011 HIV and AIDS Planning Committee in collaboration with the Nova Scotia Advisory Commission on AIDS and Department of Seniors
- Saturday, November 19th - 11:00am - 4:00pm - In conjunction with HIV/AIDS Awareness Week - Talk about Hooking Up- an intergenerational conversation. Mic Mac Friendship Center on Agricola
- Thursday, November 24th - 11:45- Red Ribbon flag raising and proclamation by the Honourable Denise Peterson Rafuse - reception to follow in the Foyer of Province House .
- Monday, November 28h – Monday, November 28th 6:00-8:30 p.m. Free and open to the public. The film We Were Here. At the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Center Royal Bank Theatre, Summer Street Level, food and refreshments.

- Thursday, December 1, - 4:30pm - 6:30pm - World AIDS Day -Italian Cultural Center, 2629 Agricola Street - All Nations Drumming to open the evening followed by speakers and spoken word artists - Poets4Change

- Thursday, December 1, - Vigil - 7:00pm - Halifax Marriott Waterfront - Acadia Room, 1919 Upper Waterfront in Halifax. All are welcome and attendees are invited to bring along a non-perishable food bank donation in support of Manna for Health, a local food program whose purpose is to assist in meeting the special nutritional needs of people living with HIV and AIDS and other chronic illnesses. This is a community event sponsored by the AIDS Coalition of Nova Scotia, Healing Our Nations, Aboriginal AIDS Task Force and the Halifax Marriot Waterfront Hotel.
