Quilted Wall Hanging for the IWK Health Centre
In honour of WI Week 2002, members of Women's Institutes have handcrafted a quilted wall hanging that represents the many projects the organization has been involved with over the years. Projects involving the promotion of Health, Education, Agriculture, community involvement and our rural way of life are portrayed through a series of fifteen quilted blocks. Members also donated hundred of new and hand-knit items to the IWK Health Centre and local hospitals across the province each year.
The wall hanging was dedicated to the IWK Health Centre on February 18th, 2002, as a tribute to the volunteer spirit of Nova Scotians and will become a lasting reminder of the contributions the Women's Institutes has made to the quality of life in our province.
