Please be advised, that effective November 28, 2011, there will be a fee increase on all water samples referred out for analysis. These price changes are a direct result of the fee increases issued by the referral lab. This increase applies to analysis for Arsenic, TKN, BOD, TSS, Total Dissolved Solids, Total Phosphorus (TP), Reactive Phosphorus (SPR) and Ammonia-N currently referred out to the accredited laboratory.

A disposal fee ($1.75) + a shipping & handling charge ($4.27) is applicable on all referred out samples. Prices quoted below are inclusive of disposal, shipping & handling and HST. Applicable Fees and bottle requirements are as follows:

Arsenic:7-10 day turn around time $42.86 1 mineral bottle

Arsenic Rush Samples:   *add two days to turn around time for rush samples

  • One Day Rush: $78.80* (1 mineral)
  • Two Day Rush: $60.84* (1 mineral)
  • Three Day Rush: $51.84* (1 mineral)
  • BOD: $47.17 (500mL bottle)
  • TSS: $24.17 (500mL bottle)
  • TKN: $39.70 (1 mineral)
  • Total Dissolved Solids: $24.17 (500mL bottle)
  • Total Phosphorus (TP): $47.17 (1 mineral bottle)
  • Reactive Phosphorus (SRP): $33.95 (1 mineral bottle)
  • Ammonia-N (NH3-N): $33.95 (1 mineral bottle)

Water samples must be received in Lab Services’ issued bottles.
Water samples for the above analysis are accepted Monday through Wednesday 8:30 to 3:30 and Thursday until 1 pm.

Samples are to be submitted for analysis to NSDA Sample Receiving, Harlow Institute, 176 College Rd, Truro, NS, B2N 2P3. The Agriculture Regional Offices located in Sydney, Antigonish, Kentville and Cornwallis can also accept the water samples for delivery to the Truro Office.
