Effective August 01, 2011, and until further notice, the NS Dept of Agriculture, Lab Services located in Truro, NS, is unable to conduct and will be sub-contracting water testing for Total Phosphorus (TP), Reactive Phosphorus (SPR) and Ammonia –N to an accredited Laboratory. These tests are in addition to water samples for Arsenic, TKN, BOD, TSS and Total Dissolved Solids currently referred out for analysis.

Applicable Fees and bottle requirements for the individual tests are as follows:

Total Phosphorus (TP): $33.00 + $1.75 (disposal) + $4.27 (Shipping & Handling) + HST; 1 mineral bottle

Reactive Phosphorus (SRP): $22.00 + $1.75 (disposal) + $4.27 (S&H) + HST; 1 mineral bottle

Ammonia-N (NH3-N): $22.00 + $1.75 (disposal) + $4.27 (S&H) + HST; I mineral bottle

Water samples must be received in Lab Services issued bottles. Samples may be submitted for analysis to Sample Receiving, Harlow Institute, 176 College Rd, Truro, NS.

Water samples are accepted Monday through Wednesday 8:30-3:30, and Thursday until 1pm.
