Policy Development and Coordination

The Policy and Planning Division is involved in multiple facets of policy development at departmental, interdepartmental and corporate government levels. Activities include policy reasearch and analyses; participation in the development of internal, sectoral and government-wide strategies and policies; coordination of consultations related to policy and strategy development; coordination of ministerial briefings; and coordination of information requirements related to policy issues for corporate agencies.

The division's policy development is guided by government-wide policies and strategies including Opportunities for Prosperity, Toward a Sustainable Environment , Skills NS, Red Tape Reduction, Occupational Health & Safety, and Freedom of Information & Protection of Privacy.

The division is also involved in the development of operational and sectoral policies and strategies such as
- Records Management Policy,
- Routine Access Policy,
- Growing Our Future: Long-Term Planning for Aquatic Farming in NS, and
