“I get very excited about finding a new farm or some great ingredient or finding a new cheese.”
Chef Craig Flinn, Chives Canadian Bistro
Welcome Chefs! This section of our website is especially designed with you in mind. Check back often for updated department food and wine events, promotions, and helpful ways of how you can source products locally.
This Spring, we are launching our new guide, Local and Direct: A Chef's Guide to Buying from Nova Scotia Producers (replacing the Food For Thought directory). This new guide will promote the benefits of buying local and direct from Nova Scotia producers (agriculture and seafood) - freshness, quality, and meeting the increasing consumer demand for locally produced foods. The guide will also provide information about the seasonal availability of Nova Scotia products and provide useful information about the producers who supply them.
To request a copy of this publication, please contact our Food Service Industry representative, Amanda Langley, (902) 424-3089. This guide will also be available online for your convenience. We encourage you to use these directories in buying locally produced products first.
Warm regards,

NS Agriculture, in consultation with Nova Scotia's agri-food industry.
