Records Management

The Department's records management program is made up of policies, procedures, guidelines, classification and retention schedules, systems and equipment. These components ensure that the Department is able to maintain effective control over the creation, receipt, use, storage and approved disposition of the records in its custody, regardless of their format. The program ensures that the Department is in compliance with the Government Records Act, the Public Archives Act and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and the policies set out under the corporate records management program.
