Farm Safety in Nova Scotia is carried out in cooperation with the Nova Scotia Farm Health and Safety Committee. This Committee is committed to improving the health and safety of the farm clients and reducing the number of farm accidents and injuries in Nova Scotia.
The Nova Scotia Farm Health and Safety Committee is responsible to develop and endorse farm safety polices, strategies and programs to the benefit of the farming community

Objectives of the Nova Scotia Farm Health & Safety Committee:
- Provide farm health & safety education for farmers and farm families so as to improve the health of the farming community;
- Prepare and review statistics with regards to farm accidents and use this data to design farm safety programs to reduce farm accidents;
- Provide guidance and support to county and regional program activities supporting a relationship to health and safety issues in the farm community and to establish health and safety in the agricultural community as a high priority within government;
- Facilitate the exchange of ideas in the promotion of farm health and safety to establish health and safety as a high priority in the agricultural community;
- Provide knowledgeable information of farm safety in the province for media contacts;
- Promote farm health and safety best practices;
Farm Family Support Center
The Farm Family Support Center offers a free and confidential consultation and referral service for Nova Scotian farm families seeking assistance in financial counselling, legal services, goal setting, interpersonal relationships, anger and stress management, psychological counselling, non-family dispute, resolutions, marriage counselling and children/teen conflicts. The Farm Family Support Center can be the key to getting through stressful situations. The ultimate goal of the Farm Family Support Center is to improve the quality of life for the Nova Scotian farm family. Stressful times can put a strain on the relationships in your family but we can help. The Center offers guidance and support designed to help the individual family resolve issues. The designated working groups represented on the
Nova Scotia Farm Health and Safety Committee are diverse
and broad and as such ensure a wide range of expertise
is available to the practice of Farm Safety in the
