FarmNEXT encourages new farmers to begin farming in Nova Scotia. If you’re ready to start farming, the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture is ready to help you.
FarmNEXT provides program funds linked to Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board loans for start up and succession projects.

Beginning farmers will receive coaching in business planning and ongoing farm financial management advice from specialists of Industry Development and Business Services Branch of the Department of Agriculture.
THINKFARM provides resource materials and ongoing guidance to beginning farmers at www.gov.ns.ca/thinkfarm/
For both categories:
- Loans to acquire real or personal property
- Loan amortization 5-30 years
- Funds are made available within the year of the loan
