Who: This kit provides a resource to Grade 3 teachers and others to explore soil composition and characteristics.

What: The kit consists of samples of soil constituents and soil types, samples of fertilizer constituents, a nitrogen test kit, seed samples and activity sheets.

Where: Kits are available from the Agricultural Awareness office, Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture, in Truro, NS.

Why: To provide a hands on learning experience for school children to help them appreciate the importance of soil - especially agricultural soil!
