Provincial Government Partners

Committee of Deputy Ministers and the Office of Acadian Affairs on the Implementation of the French-language Services Act
This committee provides leadership for the implementation of the French-Language Services Act. It is responsible for assisting the Office of Acadian Affairs in establishing government-wide strategic direction and for promoting the provincial government’s greater collective accountability for advancing French-language services.

Designated public institutions
Designated public institutions are departments, offices, and agencies named in the French-language Services Regulations as having responsibilities for the delivery of French-language services. Designated public institutions are represented on the French-language Services Coordinating Committee.

Federal Government Partners

Canadian Heritage
Canadian Heritage, on behalf of the federal government, is a key partner in providing funding for French-language services projects undertaken or supported by the province. Funds received from Canadian Heritage must be matched by the province.

Ministerial Conference on the Canadian Francophonie
The Ministerial Conference on the Canadian Francophonie is an annual conference of federal, provincial, territorial ministers responsible for Acadian and francophone affairs and Canadian heritage. The ministers meet to focus on issues related to Canadian francophonie and to discuss the development of public policies to strengthen the country’s linguistic duality. The Ministerial Conference undertakes initiatives that increase and enhance services in French, thus contributing to the vitality of French-language communities and francophone cultures.

Intergovernmental Network of the Canadian Francophonie
This network of public servants from departments and offices relating to French-language services, official languages, and the Francophone and Acadian communities from every province and territory meets several times a year with representatives from the federal government. Together, they discuss common issues. The Intergovernmental Network of the Canadian Francophonie is responsible for planning the annual Ministerial Conference on the Canadian Francophonie.

International Partners

Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie
The Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie is an international organisation that connects 77 francophone parliaments and interparliamentary organisations across five continents. Its mandate is to promote and defend democracy, human rights, cultural diversity and the international diffusion of the French language.
