Our Facilities

Less then an hour's drive of metro, the Natural Resources Education Center is nestled in the beautiful Musquodoboit Valley.

Our outdoor programs foster a sense of stewardship and sustainable development of our natural resources. The first educational facility of its kind in Atlantic Canada.
  • Visitor Centre
  • two spacious classrooms
  • a Boardroom/Library (for additional meeting space)
  • an 80 - hectare woodlot
  • year round programs

Twenty-nine curriculum-based programs for school and community groups. As well, a number of special events are held throughout the year.

The 80 hectare woodland provides opportunities for field tours, exhibits and demonstrations. Self-guided interpretive trails can be used for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or nature hikes. Many of the trails are wheelchair accessible, featured in “Hiking Trails of Nova Scotia”.
