Who is eligible to apply for the 2008 Moose Hunting License Draw?

You are eligible to apply if:

  • you are a resident of Nova Scotia
  • you have a valid Nova Scotia Wildlife Resources Card
  • you are 18 years of age or over by date of application
  • your hunting privileges are not suspended
  • you have not held a Nova Scotia Moose hunting license within the past five years (2003-2007)

How to Apply by Phone

Before you Call

Have the following information handy:

  1. Know the Zone and Season you want to hunt.
  2. Your Wildlife Resources Card ID number. 
  3. Your complete current mailing address.
  4. Your telephone numbers (home and work).

Application Line

Enter by calling 1-900-565-3337. The call cannot be made by cell phone.
The application line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from April 1st to May 31st.

This is not an information line. You will be charged $6.00 plus HST ($6.78) every time this number is called.

You may only apply once. Only one application per hunter will be accepted.

How to Apply by Mail

Applicants who choose not to apply by phone may apply by downloading and completing the Mail-in Application Form. Completed applications are to be mailed, along with an application fee of $10.00 plus HST ($11.30) to:

Completed applications must be received in Halifax no later than 4:30 pm, May 31, 2008. No applications will be accepted after this date.

Moose Draw Location

The 2008 Nova Scotia Moose Draw will occur
11:00 am, June 17, 2008 at the St. Peter’s Lions Hall
St. Peter’s, Richmond County.

Names of winners will be announced at the public draw.


Winners will be notified by mail.
Applicants can also check results online.

Please note that winner names will not be published in newspapers or online.
