- Provides bedrock and surficial geological mapping services
- Provides geochemical mapping services
- Undertakes specialized applied geological and geochemical research projects
- Undertakes groundwater resource assessments
- Provides basic and specialized geoscientific data and expertise for a variety of applications including:
- Mineral and energy resource exploration and development
- Resource potential assessment
- Environmental protection and land use planning
The section staff comprises 5 professional geoscientists who:
- Conduct and supervise bedrock and surficial geological and geochemical mapping and survey projects
- Undertake research on specific geological, geochemical and mineral resource environments and
- Undertake groundwater resource assessments
- Provide publication products, expertise, advice and information on the Province's bedrock and surficial geology, geochemistry, mineral resources and opportunities to clients including, environmental/geotechnical companies, mineral exploration companies and prospectors
