Abstract
This data set consists of 20
TIFF images, 20 JPEG images and 20 PDF Open File Maps of airborne magnetic total field for each
of 20 1:50 000 NTS sheets which cover most of northern mainland
Nova Scotia.
The data used to generate these images and maps were supplied by
the Geological Survey of Canada - Geophysical Data Centre, 615 Booth
St., Ottawa, Ontario, K1A 0E9, and the Radiation Geophysics Division,
601 Booth St., Ottawa, Ontario, K1A 0E8. The original magnetic data
were acquired as part of: Project #102 "Antigonish Survey",
Project #127 "Guysborough Survey", Project #184 "Musquodoboit
Survey", Project #189 "Parrsboro Survey" and Project
#152 "St. Mary's River Survey". Map coverage was locally
augmented by older vintage GSC analogue data. The MAGNETIC TOTAL
FIELD images were derived from the levelled and decorrugated measured
magnetic total field. The 24-bit colour images were divided out
into individual 1:50 000 NTS sheets and were produced with a 10m
pixel size. Each of the individual 1:50 000 NTS sheets is colored
to optimize the features on that sheet and a separate color bar
is provided for each sheet. Shading was from the south at 35°
above the horizon. For complete details an Open File Report will
be forthcoming from M. S. King later in 2004.
The images were produced by contractor M. S. King using funds
provided under the Natural Resources Canada and Nova Scotia Department
of Natural Resources joint project 'Mapping, Mineral and Energy
Resource Evaluation, Central Nova Scotia', part of Natural Resources
Canada's Targeted Geoscience Initiative (TGI-2) 2003-2005. |

Downloading Instructions
The data files have been compressed using PKZIP into a single, self-extracting EXE file.
- Read the Licence before accepting the
data.
- Download the self-extracting EXE file to the desired location on your hard
drive.
- Double click or "RUN" the EXE file and the data files will be unzipped automatically.
The EXE file can also be opened in WinZip to view and extract the compressed
files in the data set.
On UNIX platforms, the unzip command
will extract the compressed files in the EXE.
A readme file and a copy of the licence agreement are also included
with each data set. |
