Tobeatic Wildlife Management Area Regulations
made under Section 113 of the
Wildlife Act

Citation
1 These regulations may be cited as the Tobeatic Wildlife Management Area Regulations.
Definitions
2 In these regulations
(a) “Act” means the Wildlife Act;
(b) “Department” means the Department of Natural Resources;
(c) “Minister” means the Minister of Natural Resources;
(d) “Management Area” means the Tobeatic Wildlife Management Area;
(e) “muzzle loaded firearm” means a firearm in which the charge and propellant can be loaded from the muzzle of the barrel only.
Restriction on hunting
3 (1) Except as provided in these regulations, no person shall
(a) take, hunt, kill or pursue or attempt to take, hunt, kill or pursue any wild animal or bird; or
(b) possess any firearm, bow, crossbow, trap, snare or possess any wild animal or bird or the carcass or any part of any wild animal or bird
within the limits of the Management Area.
(2) Despite the regulations made herein, the Minister may, upon such terms and conditions as the Minister considers advisable, by written authorization allow any person to enter the Management Area at any time, including Sunday, to take, hunt, kill or capture any wild animal or bird for the purposes of the control, management or study of the wildlife therein.
Hunting in the management area
4 (1) Subject to these regulations, any person who is certified to hunt with a firearm under the Hunter Education, Safety and Training Regulations made under the Act and possesses a valid Deer Hunting Licence, a valid Bear Hunting Licence or a valid Small Game Hunting Licence with a muzzle hunt stamp affixed by the Department to the licence may, within the Management Area, take, hunt, kill or pursue or attempt to take, hunt, kill or pursue wildlife for which the person possesses the valid licence.

(2) No person shall hunt within the Management Area pursuant to subsection (1) except during a period of six consecutive days commencing on the third Monday in October in any year.
(2A) No person shall hunt within the Management Area as prescribed pursuant to subsections (1) and (2) unless the person
(a) produces at a District Office of the Department a valid licence as referred to in subsection (1) and any required tag issued to the person;
(b) has the licence stamped with a muzzle hunt stamp by the Department; and
(c) pays a fee of $5.71 if the person is a resident or a fee of $11.43 if the person is a non-resident.

(3) Any person hunting in the Management Area pursuant to subsections (1) and (2) shall use only a muzzle loaded firearm.
(4) Any person hunting within the Management Area pursuant to these regulations is exempted from wearing hunter orange clothing.
(5) It shall be an offence for any person hunting pursuant to these regulations to possess or use any electric motor or internal combustion engine within the Management Area.
(6) It shall be an offence for any person who hunts, takes, kills or pursues or attempts to hunt, take, kill or pursue wildlife in the Management Area to fail to comply with these regulations, or with any provision of the Act or regulations made pursuant to the Act, including the provisions respecting bag limits, tagging and reporting, unless exempted therefrom by these regulations.
