Nova Scotia Anglers' Handbook & Summary of Regulations
In November, 2010 changes to the Fisheries and Coastal Resources Act were introduced to address aquatic invasive species issues in Nova Scotia. Specific regulations to protect native fish species will be implemented this angling season. At this time, we are continuing to work with organized angling associations and regulators to develop specific regulations. At this time there are no changes to the angling regulations regarding the possession of live fish. When new regulations become law, these will be communicated to anglers through the press and enforcement staff will be informed. A background document and list of frequently asked questions has been prepared and can be found here. [PDF-26 KB]
Selected areas of the LaHave, St. Marys, and Medway Rivers are closed to all angling for all or part of 2011.See here for details.
